A HOME FOR PROGRESSIVE POPULIST CAMPAIGNERS
THE LOUNGE
Welcome to the lounge page of campaign corner, wherein you may exchange campaigning ideas with other campaigners. Think of it as a kind of “teachers lounge” or “doctor’s convention,” designed for conversation among teachers and doctors and not with students or patients. The conversation here is about campaigning, and is not intended as a forum for trying to solicit votes or convince anyone else of your position on any political issue.
Like all public meeting places, this lounge has some rules of decorum that are expected to be observed. Collegiality is the first principle of a lounge and there never should be an occasion for vitriolic or personal exchanges among those who might disagree on tactics or strategies in campaigning. Actually the observance of this rule will cover the elimination of most of the problems that frequently infest interactive websites.
Within these parameters, participants are invited to submit postings describing their experiences in their campaigns and also suggestions for campaigning based on those experiences. Other users will be able to post comments on these postings. The ORIGINAL POSTS should be sent to sunstateactivist2@yahoo.com with subject line Campaign Corner. COMMENTS on these postings (or other comments on a given posting) may be entered using the comments graphics displayed on the site. (Authors of original postings are as well required to register and log-in to make comments on their comments to their articles). You must register and log-in as a site commenter, furnishing locator information accessible only to the site moderator in case of the need to contact the commenter with any problems with a comments posting.
YOU CAN REGISTER TO POST COMMENTS ON THE SITE VIA THE “USER LOGIN” BOX VISIBLE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THIS AND EVERY PAGE. This is also where you can log-in on every visit.
These submissions (original postings and comments) will be “moderated” only if it appears to the editor that they violate the principle of civility articulated above, or if they are so “off topic” or unrelated to the purpose of the website or the content of the material being commented upon that they have no place on the website. In all such cases, the editor will refuse an original submission or remove an unacceptable comment and will inform the person who submits the material of the reason for its exclusion with the opportunity afforded to re-submit the material in more acceptable form. While not required on postings or comments, you are encouraged to include in your postings CONTACT INFORMATION on how their authors may be contacted off-website by other interested parties. There is no reason that all continuing discussions need go on strictly through the website.
As noted previously, those who submit material to the Lounge may include people who are not involved presently in a campaign but are for any reason interested in the general topic of the website and are willing to share their experience and their suggestions to the rest of the community.
