President Obama and the current administration have already shown a willingness to embrace highly controversial and legally questionable tactics in pursuing groups and individuals deemed a threat to U.S. interests or branded a “terrorist” by U.S. intelligence.From drone attacks to military intervention, the Obama regime has made its mark as highly aggressive in carrying on and expanding the legacy of the Bush administration’s “war on terror” platform. Now the New York Times finds proof of an even more extraordinary strategy. The Times reveals details of a “kill list” reviewed almost every day by President Obama and his top staff to determine which “terror” suspects are to be targeted for deadly unmanned assaults — virtual assassinations. Many of those killed or put on the “kill list” – no one knows how many operations have been launched or have been successful — are American citizens, living in Yemen or other nations and ostensibly part of terror organizations like al Qaeda. Coming into office as a “liberal law professor,” aides to the president say he has “changed” with years in office, embracing the powers of the presidency and showing little caution in his administration’s policies designed to combat groups like al Qaeda.

Already devastated by job losses and long-term joblessness that has persisted well over two years in some cases, hundreds of thousands of unemployed Americans will be faced with another crisis in their struggle to merely survive when their long-term unemployment benefits are cut by Congress via legislation with a pre-determined “expiration date” for the crucial government aid. The standard 99 weeks of federal jobless benefits has proven inadequate to deal with the staggering impacts of the recession on the nation;s job market, with millions of people laid off and finding it impossible to get a new job in a stalled labor market. Temporary extensions passed by Congress have helped the long-term unemployed get by, but this aid will soon be cut off for a total of half-a-million people with out jobs, a stunning economic impact that could curtail economic growth. Combined with tighter restrictions on state unemployment aid and rampant discrimination against the jobless in new hiring, the los of federal benefits likely means permanent disaster for the families and individuals Congress has kicked to the proverbial curb.

Scientists say they are “amazed” by confirmed reports that large numbers of bluefin tuna are testing for high levels of radioactivity following their annual journey across the Pacific. The majestic fish, a popular seafood item, starts its migratory pattern in waters off Japan, then makes its way across the vast ocean to waters off of California and Mexico. That course means the fish would have traveled directly through waters reeking of nuclear material following the Fukushima nuclear disaster last year, and experts agree that the high levels of radioactivity seen in the fish — many weighing upwards of 1,000 pounds — are from Fukushima. The presence of radioactivity in the large tuna is alarming, as the metabolism of larger fish can typically handle such contamination fairly easily. The long-term nuclear fallout raises concern over how smaller, more abundant sea life is handling the inexorable spread of radioactive particles swept into the Pacific.

IS PROGRESS ENERGY RUNNING A NUCLEAR PONZI SCHEME IN STATE OF FLORIDA?

Progress Energy, the massive North Carolina-based energy company with millions of customers in the Sunshine State, is drawing heavy criticism from economists and energy experts for its stalled project to build a nuclear power plant in Levy County, Florida. The utility has been seeking approval for a new reactor just miles from an existing one damaged by the company since 2008, but has run into cost overruns and delays that have led many outside groups to question the feasibility of the project and wonder if it will ever be constructed. Progress itself now admits that the plant cannot be built until 2024 at the earliest, and with a shocking price tag of nearly $30 billion, almost triple original estimates. Even with considerable delays and questions over the need for a new nuclear plant, Progress Energy is being allowed by Florida government regulators to charge its customers over $1 billion for costs associated with the Levy project. State officials have given blanket approval to the company’s plan to continue to institute rate increases and surcharges to pay for the phantom nuclear plant so long as state regulators — most with ties to energy companies like Progress — deem it to have “economic viability.”

CIA has a long history of assassinations of U.S. citizens, but just to name the last couple, Bush killed American citizens in Afghanistan with drones and Clinton gave his dead or alive blessing to David Koresh.
I also personally consider every death row murder to be a state-sponsored assassination of a citizen, so that makes every president who has been in office when a someone has been executed for a federal crime culpable.
I like an organized President instead of one who targets an entire building and flattens everyone inside.
I doubt Obama stands out from other Presidents with a list like that and he won’t be the last either. Bush had his own ‘list’ in the form of a deck of cards.
Anyone old enough to remember Nixon’s “Enemies List” that was made up of politicians he hated and considered his political enemies? Who they could if they thought it necessary, use the “federal machinery” to screw them? Obama has terrorists on his list, Nixon had sitting American politicians on his.
from the beginning the world know they had been killing civilians, but pentagon never talks about it and keep on denying them. so this is not a news anymore, instead this just prove the world what we know. the thing is will the world do anything about it?, is there anybody going to jail for it? will obama be put to trial for it? just like bush the killer of hundreds of thousand civilians did even get to tried and got away with it.
Governments like the US may do things that appear to be stupid, but really, they always have ulterior motives. Usually these motives don’t even benefit their people.
How wonderful that our President inquires about the ages of terrorists–and do they have families with them!–before he authorized a drone assassination.
How amusing that we now have a protocol that assumes that anyone within a “close proximity” of a targeted terrorist must be a terrorist. Why, since terrorists are so “tight and insulated” they would never associate with civilians!
Of course, terrorists would never set up camp near schools, day care centers, etc. specifically because they know that civilized (Western) democracies would be skittish about bombing innocent children. Israel, for example, has never faced that dilemma. But it took the wondrous intellect of Barack Obama to figure that one out!
