The “Grand Bargain” between Democrats and Republicans which faces America at the brink of the “fiscal cliff” is being supported by Third Way, a “liberal-centrist think tank” which promotes the Wall Street agenda. William Black notes that “Third Way” is neither liberal nor a think tank, but a propaganda agency created to provide “cover” for the Bargain for those who fancy themselves as liberals. An examination of the TW’s Board of Directors makes it clear that this is the case, given the overwhelming representation thereon of those from the finance community.

ANOTHER CHILD PLAYING FOOTBALL IS KILLED BY ISRAELI SOLDIERS IN GAZA.
As a new Israeli invasion of Gaza looms, a number of children at play have been killed by snipers, the latest being a 13-year old “football obsessed” boy who was playing near an Israeli border station and was killed by a bullet shot from that station.

Anticipating the annual binge of “holiday” shopping on the first day after Thanksgiving, Atlanta retailers are gearing up to try to outdo their competition by beginning their “giant sales” on Thursday. While the usual crowd of “they start earlier every year” tongue-clickers will be clicking away, those on the other side of the “shopping divide” may be walking off their Thanksgiving turkey by walking around the local shopping mall.

AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA, CHOOSING A ROOMMATE REGARDLESS OF HIS/HER GENDER
An administrative panel approves a change in housing policy toward a “gender neutral” roommate selection process that allows male and female students to live together in the same rooms. For reasons not entirely clear, gay, lesbian and trans-gendered activists have promoted the policy change, even though heterosexual co-habitation is not exactly their thing. The Chancellor has been reluctant to approve such policy, based on conservative thinking in the community that tends to equate co-habitation with immorality. Proponents say it’s not a matter of morality but of safety of students and their protection from bullying, also helping to insure their “academic success.” Does this debate need some logic-checking?

NOT A SPARROW FALLS.
Actually, the population of (grasshopper) sparrows in central Florida has drastically fallen, so that perhaps only 200 of the birds survive. Taking note of this fact, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Service is considering the promotion of a project to capture the birds and breed them in captivity.

The “baby boomer” generation worked for the last 40 years to help keep the US economy humming. We paid years of payroll taxes into Social Security and Medicare. These two programs are not freebees. And did you know that everyone on Medicare pays a MONTHLY premium. The “Boomers” are not the cause of our deficit problems.
We need to make sure Obama is too scared to gut the safety net. Call the White House. Call Congress. Do what you have to.
