IS FLORIDA “WAREHOUSING” ITS DISABLED CHILDREN?
The state employs as a private agency to determine what state services to families with disabled children are “medically necessary.” The U.S. Justice Department and state pediatricians agree that medical care for them is being rationed, denying many families a level of support they need to care for them at home and forcing children into nursing homes where they tend to live in a vegetative state.
