“A LACK OF EMPATHY, CONSCIENCE, THE INCAPACITY TO FEEL GUILT, AS WELL AS A CALLOUS DISREGARD FOR SAFETY OF OTHERS.”
This is part of the DSM-IV manual of illnesses in describing a psychopathic personality. It is, as well, a good working definition of the “personality” of international corporations which, once they were (in 1896) endowed with “personhood,” have assumed a fully psychopathic mode of operation as they steam-roller human values in favor of the profit motive by which they live.

FROM THE NORTH POLE TO THE EQUATOR: CAN CLIMATE CHANGE BE CONTROLLED?
As multi-national oil corporations prepare operations that will accelerate the already-alarming rate of melt of the Arctic ice cap, in Ecuador a different approach is being pursued. There the government is refraining from development of its vast oil resources, setting aside a large preserve of land exempted from drilling operations, seeking “compensation” from other governments for the billions of dollars in revenue they lose because of this policy. International response has been slow, but the idea provides at least a ray of hope in a world in which the ice in the Arctic may be gone in 4 years.

WARNING: THIS ANTI-SUICIDE DRUG MAY CAUSE YOU TO COMMIT SUICIDE.
Anti-psychotic drugs don’t explicitly carry these warnings but, looking at the escalating rates of suicide among U.S. military personnel, maybe they they should carry them. Suicide deaths now greatly exceed the number of combat ones. While there may be many reasons for growing suicide among soldiers not experiencing PTSD because they have never seen combat, Martha Rosenberg notes that one in six active duty personnel are being prescribed some kind of anti-depressant and it may be another case of the familiar suspicion that “cure” of a disease is actually contributing to its incidence.

HOW MANY QUICK CHARGES DOES IT TAKE TO GET FROM B.C. TO BAJA BY ELECTRIC CAR?
This a consideration as states of Washington Oregon and California continue the development of a West Coast Electric Highway to connect Canada with the Baja peninsula. Oregon has now completed “quick charge” installations that will allow motorists to re-charge their batteries at intervals of 25-60 miles along the road, and do so in a few minutes as opposed to the several hours once required to re-charge batteries.

Quote of the day…
The goons of the establishment threatened my family members and destroyed my school near Nagercoil in Kanyakumari district. The government wants to arrest me to shatter the mental strength of the Kudankulam villagers. The central government has portrayed me as an American agent to isolate me from the rest of the supporters.

Just wait till they give corporations fully autonomous artificial intelligence. We better end personhood before that.
