Jacobs notes how the BPP was demonized in the press and persecuted by Cointelpro operations against groups suspected of “domestic violence” that today might have subjected to them to targeting for executive action for the drone assassination of “terrorists.” Even before white activists took up the protest against the Vietnam War, the Black Panthers defined that war as a principal element in white racism.

SPEED AND RED LIGHT CAMERA SYSTEM IN BALTIMORE IS VIRTUALLY SHUT DOWN BY “TRANSITION PROBLEMS.”

Long a major source of revenue for the city from fines based on camera surveillance, the system fell into controversy as many errors in traffic citations resulted in refunds for some fines and ultimately to the city’s decision to change “vendors” at the beginning of this year. The new management is off to an inauspicious start with “improved” equipment yet to be installed and the rate of citations down to a mere trickle.

WANT IMMIGRATION REFORM? YOU MAY NOT GET IT IF YOU TRY TO FOLD GAY RIGHTS INTO THE LEGISLATION.

Some GOP leaders in Congress like Senator John McCain from Arizona are pushing this point with the Obama administration  Already politically conflicted over their support to “path to citizenship” immigration legislation, allowing people who are gay couples to proceed along this path will, it is alleged, make immigration reform an even tougher sell to Republican members of Congress.

SURE, A LOT OF THE BRIDGES IN SOUTH FLORIDA NEED REPLACEMENT BUT WE DON’T HAVE THE MONEY, SO WE HAVE TO PATCH UP THE 60-YEAR OLD ONES ONCE AGAIN.

Palm Beach and Broward County officials are finding this to be the case. The continuation of a policy of “one more patch job” is necessitated by drying up of “infrastructure” funds.
