JIM CROW GOES TO PALESTINE.

Israel is practicing against its Palestinian minority the same repressive apartheid-maintaining measures that kept blacks in “their places” (literally) in the U.S. in the years leading up to the civil rights movement. The walls that attempt to separate Jews and Muslims are the equivalent to the “red lining” in mortgages that kept blacks out of “white” neighborhoods. The frequent and arbitrary arrest for minor “crimes” prevail now in Palestine as then in Alabama in the 1960s. And perhaps the walls of apartheid will again come tumbling down as a result of boycott operations directed against the oppressors.

MINNESOTA: “LAND OF 10,000 LAKES.” WELL, SUBTRACT MAYBE A THOUSAND OF THEM THAT HAVE DRIED UP FROM CURRENT DROUGHT.

The “emerging” BRICS countries of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa are pinning many of their plans for economic development on global tourism with themselves as “destinations,” presumably among people from “already emerged” countries in Europe and North America.

DOES “CALAMITY IN THE SKY” LOOM AS CONGRESS PREPARES TO “SEQUESTER” FUNDS FOR THE FAA?

This is the warning of Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood, as he looks at a transportation budget with a $1 billion cut that may result in reductions of personnel in control towers and TSA security checkpoints, creating chaos in the skies and frustration at the airports. Skeptics say he is a Chicken Little overdoing the “sky is falling” routine and that budget-cutting can be achieved by cutting out the “fat” in the Transportation budget.

WHO KILLED JD?

Well, it really doesn’t matter, the fact is that J.D. Alexander is gone from the Florida legislature, having left behind his plan to create an expensive independent Folly-tech (make that Poly-tech) university in Polk County. Current legislative leaders are seeing the fiscal reality of JD’s folly, and many vow to return the “off-shoot” of the University of South Florida back under the wing of USF.

Quote of the day…

Bless al Qaeda, it enables us to prosecute our warlike activities against China! To paraphrase Sartre’s seminal essay on anti-Semitism, anti-Semitism is about everything except Jews; here, counterterrorism is about everything but terrorists; and if we didn’t have al Qaeda and “its affiliates” to contend with, we would have had to invent them, as part of our desperate attempt to remain the unilateral dominant power on the global stage.
